Weekends are a time to relax and recharge in preparation for a new week. What better way to escape the hustle and bustle of Lagos than to spend the weekend at the beach, letting your feet sink into the sand and water? Here are the top three beaches in Lagos to visit this weekend:
Oniru Beach
One of the closest beaches to town is Oniru. It’s a lovely place to unwind, but only if you enjoy crowds. A privately owned beach on the Victoria Island axis, you can be sure to have a great time here with activities such as horseback riding, swimming, and even the Ferris wheel. You must pay an entrance fee to gain access to the beach. This is an excellent location for friends to gather and spend time together.
Atican Beach
This beach is known for being very family-friendly and is located off the Lekki-Epe expressway. It is also usually crowded on weekends, so if you prefer it to be quieter, go when it is less crowded. Atican beach is a little further out of town, so if you want to get away from the city and all of its shenanigans, this is a great option.
Wave Beach
Consider Wave Beach when looking for the ideal city hideaway. This private beach, located in the bustling Lekki axis, houses a bar and a restaurant, so all of your food needs are met nearby. It is easily classified as a lounge with a beautiful sea view and shoreline. Relax by sunbathing on the sunbeds outside the beach and watching the waves. That is only available in a few locations in Lagos. In the evenings and on weekends, Wave Beach usually comes alive with events.
